The trailer of Huma Qureshi, Shreyas Talpade and Sunny Singh’s upcoming comedy-drama, Single Salma was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. Directed by Nachiket Samant, the film is written by Amina Khan and Ravi Kumar, with dialogues by Mudassar Aziz.

The trailer introduces Huma as 33-year-old Salma Rizvi, who is finally wanting to settle down into an arranged marriage setup with Sikandar from Lucknow (Shreyas), but life throws her into an unexpected love in London with Meet (Sunny), a flamboyant DJ. It leads to some confusion within the family and moments of laughter as they navigate the relationships. The trailer features some gags involving Sikandar, who is in his late thirties and has an old-fashioned lifestyle. In a scene, he interacts with a middle-aged woman, who comments about his age and Sikandar gives her a fitting response. The trailer ends with the marriage between Sikandar and Salma taking place, however, Meet arrives which leads to further chaos.

Presented by Star Studio18 in association with Elemen3, Single Salma is produced by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Saqib Saleem, Elemen3 Entertainment, Lalaland Entertainment and Firuzi Khan. It is set to be released in theatres on October 31.

Huma was recently seen in Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi starrer Jolly LLB 3. Her upcoming investigative thriller, Bayaan, was recently screened at the Toronto International Film Festival 2025. The actor will also be seen next in the fourth season of the political-thriller series, Maharani and the neo-noir thriller, Baby Do Die Do, which is also directed by Nachiket and produced by Huma and her brother Saqib.

Huma also recently won the Face of Asia Award at the Busan International Film Festival 2025. After receiving the award, Huma said, “For a little girl who grew up in a middle-class family in New Delhi, whose father was born in Nizamuddin Basti and whose mother was born in a village in Kashmir, I was always told that acting or even thinking of becoming an actress was not for someone like me. So, to be here and to receive this is validation not just for me, but for all those little girls out there who have been told that certain things are not for them. This is for all the little girls who dare to dream and who don’t take no for an answer.”
