There have been rumours doing the rounds about Saiyaara star Aneet Padda and Kiara Advani being considered to be cast in producer Dinesh Vijayan's upcoming film Shakti Shalini. Meanwhile, Laapataa Ladies star Pratibha Ranta is also tipped to play a role in Maha Munjya. On Friday, Dinesh's Maddock Films banner took to social media to set the record straight. In a brief note, the banner wrote, "While we truly value the excitement around our horror-comedy universe, we want to make it absolutely clear that any reports regarding the casting of the upcoming chapters, including Shakti Shalini and Maha Munjya, are purely speculative."

Both films are part of the production banner's horror-comedy universe, including titles such as the two Stree films, 2022's Bhediya, last year's Munjya, and the upcoming Thama. A third Stree film and a sequel to Bhediya are part of the banner's upcoming slate, alongside titles such as Pehla Mahayudh and Doosara Mahayudh.

Kriti Sanon is set to feature opposite Varun Dhawan in Bhediya 2, slated for an August 14, 2026, release. Meanwhile, Stree 3, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, is scheduled for an August 13, 2027, release. The franchise's next film, Thama, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rashmika Mandanna, is set to hit theatres this Diwali.
