Jolly LLB 3 box office: Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi’s courtroom-comedy, Jolly LLB 3 has earned Rs 12.5 crore on Day 1, as per Sacnilk. Directed by Subhash Kapoor, the film also stars Saurabh Shukla, Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao and Gajraj Rao in pivotal roles.
It had an occupancy of 10.28 % for morning shows, 17.46 % in afternoon shows and saw a jump to 39.45 % in the night. The film had less than 4,000 shows on the first day, as opposed to Akshay's Housefull 5, which had 7,000 shows and Sitaare Zameen Par, which had over 9,000 shows.
The third part has fared better than the Aamir Khan film, which opened at just over Rs 10.7 crore. It lags much behind Housefull 5, which earned Rs 24 crore on its first day and has even failed to beat the collection of Jolly LLB 2, which starred Akshay, and had opened at Rs 13.2 crore in 2017. However, Jolly LLB 3 has surpassed the first-day collections of Akshay’s other releases this year, Kesari Chapter 2 (Rs 7.75 crore) and Sky Force (Rs 12.25 crore).
Jolly LLB 3 released alongside Anurag Kashyap’s Nishaanchi, which has managed to earn just over Rs 25 lakh on its first day.
The courtroom-comedy has been produced by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare and co-produced by Naren Kumar, Dimple Kharbanda. It was released in theatres on September 19.
CE’s review of the film reads, “The third outing in the franchise might be the most urgent and also questioning amidst a sea of either neutral or prostrating mainstream films. We hear about protesting farmers “reaching Delhi” and a certain “VM” hiding in London. Words like “superpower”, “fastest-growing economy” and “vikas (development)” slip into dialogues. The film is inspired by the 2011 farmers’ uprising in Uttar Pradesh against the corporates trying to take over land chiefly in the villages of Bhatta and Parsaul.”
