Actor Huma Qureshi has won the Face of Asia Award at the Busan International Film Festival 2025. Her film, Bayaan premiered at the festival after being screened at the Toronto International Film Festival 2025 earlier.

The actor was felicitated at Marie Claire’s Asia Star Award ceremony. Receiving the honour, Huma gave an emotional speech and said, “For a little girl who grew up in a middle-class family in New Delhi, whose father was born in Nizamuddin Basti and whose mother was born in a village in Kashmir, I was always told that acting or even thinking of becoming an actress was not for someone like me. So, to be here and to receive this is validation not just for me, but for all those little girls out there who have been told that certain things are not for them. This is for all the little girls who dare to dream and who don’t take no for an answer.”

Bayaan has been written and directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra (Chauranga, 2016) and also stars Chandrachur Singh, Sachin Khedekar, Paritosh Sand, Avijit Dutt, Vibhore Mayank, Sampa Mandal, Swati Das, Aditi Kanchan Singh and Perry Chhabra in pivotal roles.

The film was developed at Film Independent, Los Angeles and is produced by Shiladitya Bora of Platoon One Films, India’s leading independent film studio known for multiple Filmfare award winning Ghaath (Berlinale 2023) and National Award winner Picasso

Bayaan is a co-production of Platoon One Films with Madhu Sharma (Summit Studios), Kunal Kumar, Anuj Gupta as producers with Switzerland-based Sadik Keshwani (Guidant Films) as co-producer. Huma is also attached as an executive producer on the film.

Meanwhile, Huma will also be seen next in the web-series, Maharani Season 4 and the action-thriller, Baby Do Die Do.
