Rakesh Roshan recently shared an update on Krrish 4 and said that the film is set to be released in theatres in 2027. He also said that it will go through an extensive pre-production in order to be well prepared before the shoot.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Rakesh said, “The script didn’t take a lot of time. The pressure was the budgeting. Now that we have an idea of the definite budget required for this film, we’ll be starting the film.”

He added, “The work is going on in full swing. We are going to start shooting by the middle of next year. This is because the pre-production is much more extensive for this film. Hence, we have to be well prepared before we go on floors. We plan to release it in 2027.”

The superhero actioner is set to be helmed by Hrithik Roshan this time as he makes his debut as a director. Earlier this year in March, Rakesh announced Hrithik as the director and wrote, “Duggu, 25 years ago I launched you as an actor, and today again after 25 years you are being launched as a director by two filmmakers—Aditya Chopra and myself—to take forward our most ambitious film #Krrish4. Wish you all the success in this new avatar, with good wishes and blessings!”

The franchise, which began with the 2003 film Koi…Mil Gaya and was followed by Krrish (2006) and Krrish 3 (2013), was helmed by Rakesh Roshan. The veteran director-producer had said in a statement while making the announcement of Krrish 4 that he is passing the baton to Hrithik. “Hrithik has a clear and a very ambitious vision of taking Krrish's journey forward with the audience for the next decades. I couldn't be prouder to see him wear the director's hat for a film that means the world to us as a family,” Rakesh said.

Production house Yash Raj Films will collaborate with Hrithik’s father and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan’s Filmkraft Productions to back the project.
