Actor Roshan Mathew recently spent some time speaking about his co-stars from the 2022 film Darlings. Speaking to Mazhavil Manorama as part of promotions for his upcoming Malayalam film Ithiri Neram, releasing on November 07, Roshan said that the presence of Shefali Shah, Alia Bhatt and Vijay Varma in the cast is the reason why he chose to do Darlings. Roshan also spoke about the contrasting approaches of actors Alia and Shefali. According to him, Shefali is an actor who prepares for her roles, and that she makes it apparent on set. "You can tell that she is preparing," the actor said about Shefali's process on set.

On the other hand, Roshan said that Alia roams around the set without making any major preparations for her role. "However, it becomes obvious from the way she gives the take that she has prepared for it in her own way," the actor added. He also revealed that some work goes behind Alia's process, even if it is her just sitting somewhere and thinking about something.

"There is that much precision for everything he does from the first take to the last one, until the director okays it," Roshan explained. He also described Vijay Varma as "a great actor".
