Janhvi Kapoor addressed rumours of doing plastic surgery during her appearance on Kajol and Twinkle Khanna’s celebrity talk show, Two Much. Janhvi said that she doesn’t want to perpetuate the idea of perfection to young girls.
Janhvi has often been talked about for her lip fillers, fat removal and rhinoplasty. During the conversation on the show, Janvhi said that she doesn’t want to pretend to be naturally flawless. “I was one of the young girls who was very impressionable with the onset of social media and seeing everyone being judged to look a certain way. I don’t want to perpetuate to young girls this idea of perfection. I'm a big believer in ‘you do you,’ do whatever makes you happy. I would be very happy to be a completely open book about things,” she said.
The actor added, “I think I have been very intelligent, conservative, and proper about what I have done. Of course, I had the guidance of my mom, and I'd like to share that. Also, as a cautionary tale, because if a young girl sees a video like this and decides mujhe bhi ye buffalo-plasty karna hai (even I want to do buffalo-plasty) and something goes wrong, that would be the worst thing ever. I think transparency is important."
She also spoke about her mother, the late actor Sridevi and how she was aware about appearance being a trap for an artist. “She always told me that beauty is meant to enhance your confidence, not define your worth. If you ever decide to change something, make sure it’s for yourself, not because of fear or comparison,” she added.
Janhvi was recently seen in Shashank Khaitan’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound, both of which were produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and released one week after the other.
