Manoj Bajpayee took to social media on Friday to urge his followers not to spread “distorted content” after his fake video went viral ahead of Bihar elections. Manoj said that he has no association with any political party.

The actor shared the video, which is now deleted and wrote, “I would like to publicly state that I have no association or allegiance with any political party. The video being circulated is a fake, patched-up edit of an ad I did for @PrimeVideoIN. I sincerely appeal to everyone sharing it to stop spreading such distorted content and urge people not to engage with or encourage such misleading content.”

Interacting recently with CE, Manoj revealed that he was going through an existential crisis and considered quitting from the industry. "My commercial projects were actually doing well. I don’t know, this seeking feeling, I have had since childhood. It resurfaces once in a while. It’s just that this time it came much stronger. For one year, I wasn’t doing any work. I was just looking after my health, spending time with my family, reading, and watching films."

On the work front, Manoj was recently seen in Raam Reddy’s Jugnuma, which was released in theatres in September. The actor also played the lead in Netflix’s dark-comedy, Inspector Zende, which was directed by Chinmay Mandlekar and also starred Jim Sarbh in a pivotal role.

Manoj will be seen next in the third season of The Family Man. Created by Raj and DK, the second season of the show premiered on Prime Video in 2021.
