Manav Kaul will be seen next in Aditya Dhar-backed supernatural film, Baramulla, the makers announced on Friday. It will be released on Netflix on November 7, the makers said while unveiling a first look poster. The film has been helmed by Article 370 (2024) director Aditya Jambhale, who also wrote the screenplay and dialogues with Monal Thaakar.
The film has been described as a blend of genres, bringing in elements of supernatural, mystery and drama, while telling a story of turmoil set in Kashmir. As per the makers, “Manav plays DSP Ridwaan Sayyad, who is brought into an eerie investigation to find missing children. As he and his family move into a derelict house in town, he feels the weight of his past pressing down on him.”
In the first look poster, Manav is seen wearing a police uniform with a look of mystery on his face. In the background, an eerie image of an eye hangs in the thunderous sky with multiple hands inside.
Speaking about the film, director Aditya said in a statement, “With a genre bending film like Baramulla, we wanted to tell a story rooted in emotion but elevated by tension and the supernatural. Kashmir is not just the setting; it's a living, breathing character that shapes every moment and every mystery. We hope the audience across the world feels the pulse of the valley and the humanity at the heart of this journey.”
Producers Aditya and Lokesh Dhar, who have co-produced the film with Jyoti Deshpande, added, “After Dhoom Dhaam, reuniting with Netflix and Jio Studios for Baramulla felt like a natural next step. We are also reuniting with Aditya Suhas Jambhale after he directed Article 370. This film ventures into a genre space rarely explored in Indian cinema where drama meets supernatural mystery. It’s thrilling, emotional, and unconventional."
