Kangana Ranaut opened up recently about her journey of being an actor and said that it was tougher than that of Shah Rukh Khan’s. Kangana said that she came from a small village in Himachal Pradesh, while Shah Rukh was from Delhi and went to a convent school.

Speaking at a PHDCCI event in Delhi, Kangana said, “Why did I get so much success? There is probably nobody else who came from a village and got such success in the mainstream. You talk about Shah Rukh Khan. They are from Delhi, convent-educated. I was from a village that nobody would have even heard of – Bhamla. Maybe others may disagree, but I feel it’s because I am brutally honest, not just with people but with myself too.”

Kangana was born and raised in Bhamla in Himachal Pradesh. She moved to Mumbai at the age of 15 and made her Bollywood debut at 19 with Anurag Basu’s romantic-thriller, Gangster. On the other hand, Shah Rukh is from Delhi. He began his career with television before shifting to Mumbai in 1991.He made his debut with Deewana, directed by Raj Kanwar. The film also starred Rishi Kapoor and Divya Bharti.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Kangana was last seen in Emergency, a political-drama, which was also directed by her.

Shah Rukh is currently shooting for Siddharth Anand’s King, which also stars Deepika Padukone, Jaideep Ahlawat and Raghav Juyal in pivotal roles.
