‘Aap Is Dhoop Mein’, a song from Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh’s upcoming romantic-drama, Gustaakh Ishq was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. It has been composed by Vishal Bhardwaj, written by Gulzar and features vocals by Arijit Singh.

The song begins on a tender note with a set of lines sung by Arijit that carry an innocent rhyme about love with chorus by Vaishnavi Bhuyar, Surabhi Khekale, Vasudha Tiwari, Sonal Choubisa, Sushmita Narayan and Bandita Bharti. The entire song is about a lover’s description of his beloved when she comes out in the sun. The lyrics by Gulzar don’t carry the usual rhyme and hook-line but run more like a conversation, blending with the tenderness in the music. The video supports this as it shows Vijay and Fatima in the everyday life as their eyes meet and a feeling of love seems to brew between them. At one point, Vijay follows her on his bike as she rides on a horse cart with the character of Naseeruddin Shah. The video ends with a group photo that the three take as Vijay is asked by the photographer to move closer to her.

Gustaakh Ishq has been directed by Vibhu Puri and it unfolds as a poignant love story of passion and unspoken desire, set amidst the bylanes of Purani Dilli and the fading kothis of Punjab. It has been produced by celebrity fashion designer Manish Malhotra along with his brother Dinesh Malhotra under their Stage5 Production banner. 

Speaking about his foray as a producer with the film, Manish said earlier, “My love for cinema began in childhood. The silver screen was my doorway to the world, watching colours, clothes, music, and lifestyles unfold in cinema halls shaped my imagination and inspired me to become a designer. Today, stepping into film production feels like my way of giving back to the medium that has given me everything.”

Gustaakh Ishq is set to be released in theatres on November 21.
