Shah Rukh Khan to host Filmfare Awards 2025 after 17 years

Shah Rukh Khan is set to return as the host for the Filmfare Awards 2025 after over 17 years. Shah Rukh will co-host the popular award show with actor-comedian Maniesh Paul and filmmaker Karan Johar.

Filmfare made the announcement on Tuesday evening by posting a photo of the superstar. They wrote in caption, “The Superstar, The Icon, The Enigma. Hold your hearts, because the one and only #ShahRukhKhan is making his way to co-host the most awaited #70thHyundaiFilmfareAwards2025withGujaratTourism, happening on October 11 at Eka Arena, Ahmedabad.”

Shah Rukh was a regular to host the awards before 2010 with his most memorable outing being with that with Saif Ali Khan in 2003 and 2004. After a brief gap, Shah Rukh returned to host the award show again in 2007 with Karan and it was in 2008 that he last hosted the show with Saif, Karan and Vidya Balan. He is known for adding his trademark wit and humor while interacting with other celebrities on the stage.

The Filmfare Awards 2025 will be held on October 11 at EKA Arena, Kankaria Lake, Ahmedabad. It is being organized in Gujarat for the first time.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shah Rukh is currently shooting for his upcoming actioner, King, which also stars Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan. The film is being helmed by Sidharth Anand.

Shah Rukh’s son, Aryan Khan recently made his web-series directorial debut with The Ba***ds of Bollywood, which was released on Netflix on September 18. The show was backed by Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment and starred Lakshya, Bobby Deol, Raghav Juyal, Sahher Bambba, Gautami Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, and Anya Singh pivotal roles. It also featured cameos by Shah Rukh, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, SS Rajamouli, Rajkummar Rao, Arjun Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Disha Patani and others from the industry.
