Composer Palash Muchhal and noted cricketer Smriti Mandhana's much-awaited wedding was put on hold after Smriti's father was hospitalised. With multiple media reports spreading unverified news on the issue, popular singer Palak Muchhal, Palash's sister, has shared a note on her Instagram handle requesting privacy for the families during this difficult time.
"Due to Smriti's father's health, Smriti and Palash's wedding has been put on hold. We would request you all to respect the privacy of the families during this sensitive time," she said in her note.
After celebrating her haldi and other pre-wedding festivities, Smriti Mandhana's father fell ill and was admitted to Sarvhit Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Maharashtra's Sangli where he was presented with heart attack-like symptoms.
A day after that, Palash was also admitted to a hospital in the same district. With multiple medical emergencies in the family, Smriti Madhana had deleted pictures and videos of her pre-wedding festivities from her social media handles. Palak had visited Palash at the hospital on Tuesday morning to check in on him.
Friends and well-wishers have been pouring their heartfelt messages, praying for a speedy recovery for both Mandhana and Palash.
According to reports, Smriti and Palash started dating in 2019 and announced their relationship publicly in July 2024. Palash had also shared a heartwarming video of him proposing to Smriti at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, the same venue where Mandhana had won the 2025 Women's Cricket World Cup.
