Priyanka Chopra has lent her vocals for the song ‘Last Christmas (desi version)’, from Hollywood director Gurinder Chadha’s upcoming film, Christmas Karma. The song was unveiled by the makers on Saturday.

Sung by Priyanka, it features Hindi lyrics along with a touch of classical Indian music, blending the traditional Indian sounds with the spirit of the Christmas anthem. The song is of the Christmas Karma soundtrack, an album celebrating the UK’s vibrant and diverse music scene.

Gurinder shared the song on social media and wrote a note thanking Priyanka. She said, “This is @priyankachopra for you. One call to support the movie and she was in. Always ready to support filmmakers from our community. Using her platform and her voice (in this case even the singing one) in support of my vision. Thank you for supporting me always Pri.”

Directed by Gurinder, known for films like Bend It Like Beckham and Blinded By The Light, Christmas Karma is a festive, fresh and feel-good musical adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol.

The film features Kunal Nayyar in the lead role as a modern-day Scrooge and stars Eva Longoria, Billy Porter, Boy George, Danny Dyer, Leo Suter, Pixie Lott, Charithra Chandran, and Hugh Bonneville. The film is set to be released in cinemas across the UK, Ireland, and the US on November 14 followed by the Indian release on December 14.

Meanwhile, Priyanka was last seen in the action-comedy, Heads of State, which also features John Cena and Idris Alba.
