Sussanne Khan and Zayed Khan’s mother, Zarine Khan has passed away at the age of 81 due to age related ailments. Zarine breathed last at her residence in Mumbai and is survived by her husband, veteran actor-producer Sanjay Khan and their children, Sussanne, Simone Arora, Farah Ali Khan, and Zayed.
Zarine had a brief stint in Bollywood before she married Sanjay. She appeared in films like Tere Ghar Ke Saamne and Ek Phool Do Mali. Reportedly, the two met at a bus stop, a chance meeting that later transformed into love.
After getting married, Zarine ventured into interior designing and went on to establish herself in the profession. Her daughter, Sussanne followed into her footsteps later. Zarine also wrote a cookbook, Family Secret which was a compilation of recipes that were passed down in the family.
She celebrated her 81st birthday earlier this year in July. To mark the occasion, Sussanne had shared a video featuring glimpses of their candid moments.
She wrote in caption, “My my… what an amazing mama you are! Happiest happy birthday, my gorgeous, beautiful mommy. Everything I do and all that I create in life is because of the way you shaped my heart, my mind, and my grit. I am so honoured and grateful to be your little girl. May the universe always protect you and continue to help you spread the love and smiles that you do. Have the most spectacular year!”
