Salman Khan has landed in legal trouble as a complaint was filed against the actor in the Kota Consumer Court, alleging that advertisements for a popular pan masala brand endorsed by him were “misleading."

As per an ANI report, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Rajasthan High Court advocate Inder Mohan Singh Honey filed the complaint and sought for a ban on such advertisements put up by the brand Rajshree Pan Masala. After the complaint, the court issued notices to the actor and sought a formal response.

Speaking to the publication, Inder said, “Salman Khan is a role model for many people. We have filed a complaint against it in the Kota Consumer Court, and notices have been issued for a hearing. Celebrities or film stars in other countries don’t even promote cold drinks, but they are promoting tobacco and pan masala. I urge them not to spread the wrong message to the youth, as pan masala is one of the leading causes of mouth cancer.”

Inder argued that the ads make a claim of their product containing “saffron-infused cardamom" and "saffron-infused pan masala.” He questioned the credibility of these claims and reasoned that, saffron, which costs nearly Rs 4 lakh per kilogram, cannot be an ingredient in a product that is priced at Rs 5.

Next hearing in the matter has been scheduled for November 28.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Salman will be seen in the war-drama, Battle of Galwan.
