Paresh Rawal opened up recently about opting out of Hera Pheri 3 and said that it is a role that he didn’t want to do. The actor said that director Priyadarshan tried to change his mind but he remained final in his decision. The film also stars Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty.

Speaking to Mid-day, Paresh said, “I know it came as a shock to many. We three make a great combination with Priyadarshan ji directing us, but the fact is that I opted out because today I don't feel like a part of it. It is final for the time being. I always say never say never for anything. One cannot predict what happens in the future."

He said that there were no creative differences with the director. “I love Priyadarshan and have great respect and faith in him as a director. We have done wonderful movies together in the past and will continue to do so. There were no creative differences, nor is there a possibility of having any with him. No amount of money compares to the love and respect of my audience. Right now, I just felt it is a role that I don't want to do, that's all," he said.

Paresh added, “Priyadarshan ji tried to change my mind but he knows. They all know that if I decide on something, I will follow it up. So, they don’t pursue further.”

Paresh recently took to social media to confirm his exit from the third part of the popular comedy-franchise. Meanwhile, the actor completed shooting for Priyadarshan’s horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, which also stars Akshay.

Hera Pheri (2000) was directed by Priyadarshan. The film’s writer, the late Neeraj Vohra, took up directorial duties for the 2006 sequel Phir Hera Pheri. Paresh played the role of a loud oldie Baburao Apte in the films, which has attained a cult status.
