Amid reports of a surge in the number of COVID cases in Asia, TV personality and Hindi actor Shilpa Shirodkar revealed that she has been tested Covid-19 positive. The actor, who is recovering from the condition at her home in India, urged her followers to wear face masks. "Hello People! I’ve tested positive for COVID. Stay safe and wear your masks!" she wrote on Instagram.

Namrata Shirodkar's sister, Shilpa Shirodkar appeared in many films in the 1990s, including Gopi Kishen, Bewafa Sanam, Pehchaan, Aankhen, and Hum. She took a long break from acting after the 2000 film Gaja Gamini, written and directed by MF Husain. Later, she came back with roles in television programs.

Her more recent credit came as a Bigg Boss 18 participant.
