Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty and Suniel Shetty’s Dhadkan to re-release in theatres

Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty and Suniel Shetty starrer love-triangle drama Dhadkan is set to re-release in theatres on May 23. The film originally released in theatres 25 years ago on August 11, 2000.

The musical romance-drama will be released in select theatres as a part of a special screening initiative to celebrate iconic Bollywood films. It will be showcased in a digitally remastered format.

Directed by Dharmesh Darshan, Dhadkan tells a story of love, heartbreak, and emotional complexities. Shilpa Shetty played the role of Anjali, who is torn between her love for Dev, played by Suniel Shetty, and her loyalty towards her husband, Ram, played by Akshay Kumar. 

Dhadkan was especially praised for its soundtrack. Songs like ‘Tum Dil Ki Dhadkan Mein’ and ‘Dulhe Ka Sehra’ are earworms. Alka Yagnik also won the Best Female Playback Singer award at the 46th Filmfare Awards for the song ‘Dil Ne Yeh Kaha Hain Dil Se’.
