Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava breaks Pathaan’s record, earns Rs 546 crore in four weeks

Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava continues its strong pull over the box-office. The historical-drama has surpassed the record of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, earning Rs 546.75 crore in four weeks since release, as per Sacnilk.com. Pathaan’s 9-week collection stands at Rs 543.09 crore.

In the fourth week, Chhaava collected Rs 55.95 crore, minting Rs 16.75 crore on its fourth Saturday and Rs 10.75 crore on Sunday. The film saw a slight decline on the weekdays, earning Rs 5.25 crore on Monday and Rs 5.15 crore on Tuesday. It again saw a jump on Friday owing to the festival of Holi, as it earned Rs 7.25 crore. The film’s worldwide collection stands at Rs 731 crore.

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava tells the story of Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, played by Vicky and his fight with Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, played by Akshaye Khanna. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Vineet Kumar Singh, Ashutosh Rana and Divya Dutta in pivotal roles.

It was released in theatres on February 14.
