Actors Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu were a popular couple in the late 90s, however, they broke up in 2002 during the shooting of the horror film Raaz. In a recent interview, Dino stated that he was the one who initiated the breakup, and Bipasha found it very difficult to deal with it.

“To be honest, it was me who was breaking up with her because we had some issues. She found it very tough, and I saw her every day on set, and she was upset. It was very tough at that point for me to see someone I really cared about, but we had already chosen different paths. We did try to fix it, but it didn’t happen, and I moved on,” Dino told Pinkvilla.

He also spoke about how the situation impacted them on the job. “It was tough because we had spent a lot of time together, and then we were suddenly separated. While that was happening, we also had to work together. We were upset, but we had to go separate ways. Time heals everything, and we became the best of friends after that. That moment was very tough—emotional, full of rage—but time improved it.”

In an earlier interaction, Raaz director Vikram Bhatt spoke about how Dino and Bipasha’s crumbling relationship affected the film. He recalled, “I remember a tragicomic situation where we were shooting for their wedding song, ‘Main Agar Saamne’. There’s this line in the song—"Apni shaadi ke din ab nahi door hain" (The day of our wedding is not far away)—and it was during this scene that they were both fighting. I remember Bipasha crying and Dino being unhappy.” Vikram also mentioned that he had to step in and instruct them to keep their personal and professional lives separate.
