The trailer of Abhishek Bachchan’s upcoming film Kaalidhar Laapata was unveiled by the makers on Saturday. The film is directed by Madhumita, who also helmed the Tamil version, KD (2019) featuring Mu Ramaswamy and Naga Vishal.

The trailer introduces Abhishek as Kaalidhar, a middle-aged man grappling with memory loss. When he overhears his siblings’ cruel plan to abandon him at the crowded Maha Kumbh Mela, Kaalidhar decides to disappear on his own terms. He befriends Ballu (Daivik Bhagela), an outspoken, street-smart 8-year-old. Ballu helps Kaalidhar rediscover joy in his life as cops search for him. A meta exchange follows between the two as Ballu brings up an Amitabh Bachchan dialogue during a conversation.

The film also stars Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Daivik Bhagela in pivotal roles and has been produced by Zee Studios and Emmay Entertainment.

Abhishek was recently seen in Housefull 5. Kaalidhar Laapata will be the third film in recent time where the actor’s character explores a relationship with a child. Previous two being I Want To Talk (2024) and Be Happy (2025).
