The announcement also came with a video featuring Salman as he says that there will be "too much fun" in the upcoming show.

The makers of the show are yet to announce the names of the contestants in the upcoming season. It will mark Salman's 16th appearance as the Bigg Boss host. Earlier, there were rumours about Salman replacing Amitabh Bachchan as the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) season 17, but the speculation turned out to be unfounded as the latter has confirmed his return.

On the film front, Salman was last seen in the AR Murugadoss directorial Sikandar, opposite Rashmika Mandanna. He has a role alongside Sanjay Dutt in the Saudi Arabian film 7 Dogs, directed by Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi, the duo popular for Bad Boys for Life. It would mark Salman's first appearance in a non-Indian film.
