War 2 trailer: The trailer of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s much-awaited actioner War 2 was unveiled by the makers on Friday. Written by Sridhar Raghavan and directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film also stars Kiara Advani and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles.

The trailer is filled with action-packed sequences on the train, boat and plane featuring Hrithik and NTR in their prime. It opens with Hrithik’s voiceover declaring that he will lead a solitary life letting go of his name, fame, family and belongings. “I will become a nameless shadow,” he says. Then we hear the voiceover of NTR where he says that he will do everything which no one else can do. “I am not a human; I am a weapon of war,” he declares. Kiara makes an appearance seeming to be the love interest of Hrithik as the two are seen romancing each other briefly. Later, however, the trailer shows them fighting with each other in a hand-to-hand combat. At one point, Hrithik and NTR have a faceoff as they walk towards each other and start firing their rifles. The trailer ends with Ashutosh reciting a line from the Bhagavad Gita and urging Hrithik and NTR to fight like soldiers. The trailer doesn’t reveal much about the storyline as both Hrithik and NTR are just shown to be soldiers for whom India comes first.

War 2 is part of YRF’s Spy Universe and releases after Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. It is a sequel to War, which was directed by Siddharth Anand and was released in 2019. It also starred  Tiger Shroff, Vaani Kapoor, Ashutosh and Anupriya Goenka.

Produced by Aditya Chopra and Akshaye Widhani, War 2 is set to be released in theatres on August 14 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
