Saiyaara’s box office reign continues. The film has surpassed the Rs 150 crore-mark in just six days of its release. On Wednesday, as per Sacnilk.com, the Mohit Suri directorial earned Rs 21 crore, a slight drop from the previous day’s Rs 25 crore. The film’s six-day collection stands at Rs 153.25 crore. Saiyaara, in less than a week, has managed to surpass the lifetime collections of Salman Khan-led Sikandar (Rs 110 crore) and Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya starrer Sky Force (Rs 112.75 crore). It is also eyeing the lifetime collections of Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par (Rs 164.74 crore), a milestone it is expected to cross today. The next targets in sight are Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 (Rs 179.3 crore) and Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 (Rs 198.41 crore).
On Wednesday, Saiyaara recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 36.29%. It began the day with a strong 21.14% in morning shows, rose to 36.93% in the afternoon, increased further to 39.00% in the evening, and peaked at 48.08% during night shows. Among regions, tier-two cities are emerging as key contributors. Jaipur led with 58% occupancy, followed by Lucknow at 44.25%. Traditional strongholds like Bengaluru (48.50%), Delhi-NCR (40%), and Mumbai (31.75%) are also showing solid performance.
With another vacant week to go before the release of Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 and Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri starrer Dhadak 2, Saiyaara is expected to break some more records. Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films, the film also features Geeta Agarwal, Rajesh Kumar, Varun Badola and Alam Khan in pivotal roles.
Our review of the film read: “A brooding baddie and a dead, dying or suffering from an incurable disease maiden. Add to it scenes of a singer feeling lost and lonely on a stage and you get a classic Mohit Suri setup. After the debacle of Ek Villain Returns (2022), it’s good to witness Suri swing at his home ground of young romance. Saiyaara is an ode to spirited, young, rebellious love and manages to steer clear of getting into the arena of social media or dating apps.”
