The trailer of Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri’s upcoming romance-drama film, Dhadak 2 will be out on July 11, the makers announced on Wednesday. Directed by Shazia Iqbal, the film is a Hindi remake of the Tamil film, Pariyerum Perumal (2018), directed by Mari Selvaraj. It is written by Shazia along with Rahul Badwelkar.

The makers unveiled a new poster from the film featuring Siddhant and Triptii. A text on the poster reads, “When surrender means death…Fight!”.

The film is a spiritual sequel to Dhadak (2018), which featured Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor and was a remake of Nagraj Manjule’s Marathi film Sairat (2016).

Dhadak 2 recently received U/A 16+ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification after about 16 cuts, with caste slurs being muted and mention of ‘Savarna’ being removed.

The film was originally supposed to release in November 2024, but its release was later postponed to March, a date it also missed. It will now be released in theatres on August 1.

Dhadak 2 is produced by Karan Johar, Umesh Kumar Bansal, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Meenu Aroraa, Somen Mishra and Pragati Deshmukh.

Apart from Dhadak 2, Siddhant will also be seen in Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling, which also stars Wamiqa Gabbi and Jaya Bachchan. Additionally, he has an upcoming project with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the details of which are currently under wraps. While Triptii has Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit in the pipeline along with Vishal Bhardwaj's actioner starring Shahid Kapoor.
