Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has started shooting a new film with her Tanu Weds Manu (2011) co-star R Madhavan. Kangana recently shared a post on her Instagram stories showing a clapperboard of the currently untitled film which states that the movie’s production started on January 25. Kangana had announced the film in 2023.

"Nothing is more delightful than being on a film set," read the caption of the post.

The film, a psychological thriller, will be directed by AL Vijay and will be produced by R Ravindran of Trident Arts. Vijay and Kangana have collaborated before for the 2021 J. Jayalalithaa biopic Thalaivii.

Kangana and Madhavan previously worked in Aanand L Rai's 2011 romantic comedy Tanu Weds Manu, which went on to become a box office success. It was followed by a sequel titled Tanu Weds Manu Returns, which was released in 2015.

When it comes to other projects, Kangana was recently seen in the role of former prime minister Indira Gandhi in Emergency while Madhavan essayed the role of a common man going against a mighty bank in the ZEE5 comedy-drama Hisaab Barabar.
