The first teaser of Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming film The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter was unveiled by the makers on Sunday.

The two minutes, 21 seconds teaser shows Mithun Chakraborty as a frail, old man walking in a dim-lit corridor and reciting the Preamble of the Indian Constitution. His speech feels strange and it is inferred that his tongue has either been cut or burned.

Previously, Vivek had said that The Delhi Files would be part of a trilogy, including The Tashkent Files (2019) and The Kashmir Files. The Delhi Files is slated to release on Independence Day (August 15) this year.

Vivek, in the past, has been criticised for presenting one-sided opinion in his filmography and his cinema is often considered propagandist. His 2022 film The Kashmir Files, based on the plight of Kashmiri Hindus during the 1990 militancy, was subject to a lot of debates and controversies.
