Vikrant Massey-headliner The Sabarmati Report now has a digital release date. The film premiered in theatres on November 15 to mostly negative reviews and had a dismal run at the box office. Made at a budget of approximately Rs 50 crore, it could only amass about Rs 34 crore, as per Sacnilk.com.

Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, the film, also starring Raashii Khanna and Ridhi Dogra, will have its digital premiere on ZEE5 on January 10.

As per a press note shared by the makers, “The Sabarmati Report tells the story of Samar Kumar (Vikrant Massey), a passionate journalist who digs into the shocking 2002 Godhra train burning in Gujarat. As he uncovers unsettling truths behind the tragedy that claimed so many lives, Samar stumbles upon a dangerous conspiracy involving powerful figures who will stop at nothing to protect their secrets.”

Talking about the film’s digital release, director Dheeraj said, “My vision with this film was to present an honest, unflinching portrayal of a pivotal moment in our history. Viewers have received this movie in theatres and appreciated every bit of it, and I hope that continues with its digital premiere on ZEE5.”

Vikrant added, “I believe films like this carry a social responsibility—especially when telling stories that shape public consciousness and spark dialogue on issues that matter. I’m proud to be part of a film that encourages people to reflect on our past and question the stories we are fed.”
