A complaint has been filed against Farah Khan for her controversial remark on the festival of Holi. Farah allegedly called Holi ‘a festival for the chhapris (casteist slur)’ during an episode of Celebrity MasterChef on which she is a judge. Vikas Pathak, also known as Hindustani Bhau, took offence to her comments and registered a complaint against the choreographer-director for hurting religious sentiments.

As per a report in ABP News, Vikas’ advocate Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh said in the complaint, “My client states that this comment made by Farah Khan has insulted the religious sentiments of Hindus. The use of the term ‘Chhapris’ to describe a sacred festival is highly inappropriate and has the potential to cause communal tension."

He added, “Through this complaint, I seek justice under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and request your esteemed office to initiate legal action against Khan for her irresponsible and inflammatory statements.”

Farah is yet to react to the complaint.
