Arjun Kapoor’s Mere Husband Ki Biwi has opened at Rs 1.5 crore at the box-office on Day 1, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the romantic-comedy also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh.

The film has become among the worst openers of 2025, following Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s Loveyapa which opened at Rs 1.15 crore. Aaman Devgan and Rasha Thadani’s period-drama Azaad too opened at Rs 1.5 crore and eventually just managed to do a business of over Rs 6.35 crore.

Mere Husband Ki Biwi had an occupancy of 7.17 % and 13.50 % in the morning and afternoon on February 21 and saw zero occupancy in night shows.

The film also stars Harsh Gujral, Shakti Kapoor and Dino Morea in pivotal roles. It is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, and Deepshikha Deshmukh.

CE’s review of the film reads, “Arjun tries to salvage the film’s many flaws but is not compelling enough to leave an impact. Even Bhumi is trapped into being a downright villain. She sprawls her Punjabi accent only when it is convenient and is made to be a ‘crazy woman’ when there are zero signs of that either in her performance or in the script. Rakul largely stays subservient to the story, seldom adding any flair.”
