Dabba Cartel Trailer: Shabana Azmi, Jyotika break bad

Narcos now has a Thane edition. The trailer of Shabana Azmi, Jyotika, Nimisha Sajayan, Shalini Pandey and Anjali Anand starrer crime-drama series Dabba Cartel was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday.

The show is about a bunch of women who start selling drugs in the garb of running a dabba service. It is directed by Hitesh Bhatia and written by Vishnu Menon and Bhavna Kher. The shows creators are Shibani Akhtar, Gaurav Kapur and Akanksha Seda.

Set in the bustling suburbs of Thane, the trailer takes us into the lives of five women who start supplying fentanyl in food dabbas. There is also a pharmaceutical company at the centre of this trade. As their business expands new problems and players come in. Shabana Azmi plays the leader of the gang.

The series also stars Gajraj Rao, Sai Tamhankar, Lillete Dubey, Jisshu Sengupta and Bhupendra Singh Jadawat.

Creator Shibani Akhtar shared, “With Dabba Cartel, we wanted to explore the extraordinary journey of ordinary household women, and how resilience, ambition, and survival instincts can push them into unimaginable circumstances. This is a story of friendship, betrayal, and power, set against the backdrop of a world they never imagined being a part of.

Director Hitesh Bhatia added, "Directing Dabba Cartel has been an incredible experience. At its core, it’s a gripping crime drama, but what makes it special is the emotional depth and the dynamic characters who navigate a high-stakes world with courage and wit.”

The series will start streaming on Netflix from February 28.
