The song ‘Aaya Re Toofan’ from Vicky Kaushal’s upcoming historical-drama Chhaava was unveiled by the makers on Thursday. It is composed and sung by AR Rahman, with Vaishali Samant providing supporting vocals, and is penned by Irshaad Kamil and Kshitij.

The song begins with Vicky as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj praying in front of God. Later, he is giving a war-speech to his soldiers about defeating Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. As the vocals of Rahman begin, Sambhaji is seen engaged in gorilla warfare and killing his enemies with a roaring energy. The dynamic fervour of the song shifts into a more meditative one with the vocals of Vaishali, as Sambhaji sits on his throne. It again transitions into the energy with which it began, creating powerful reverberations.

Chhaava has been directed by Laxman Utekar and also stars Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, Vineet Kumar Singh, Diana Penty, and Santosh Juvekar in pivotal roles. Produced by Dinesh Vijan, it is set to be released in theatres on February 14.
