Dhurandhar actor Rakesh Bedi has confirmed that there is going to be a part 2 of the film. In a recent interview with ITV Blink, Rakesh said that he has a major role to play in the film’s second instalment and said that it will be released in a couple of months.

Rakesh plays the role of a politician in Dhurandhar. Talking about his character, he said, “I am eagerly waiting for this film. Last year, in January, when the film was starting, Aditya offered me this role in Dhurandhar. In this film, I am playing a very different role, and that will be revealed in the second part.”

“In Dhurandhar Part 1, I will be seen a little less, but I will be seen more in the second part. The second instalment is around the corner, it is ready and will be released in a month or two. My character is very endearing and menacing. It is inspired by a real-life politician from Pakistan; my look also resembles him,” he added.

Sharing more details about the film’s second part, Rakesh added, “Part 2 has been shot, they are just working on its post-production, it will be released in a couple of months at the most.”

Last month, a case was filed by Major Mohit Sharma’s family in the Delhi High court stating that the film is inspired from the late Armyman’s life and has been made without the family’s consent. The Delhi HC then instructed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to inspect the film. On December 2, the CBFC, however, gave a green chit to the film stating that it is a work of fiction with no factual or biographical connection to Major Mohit. Sharing his views on it, Rakesh said, “Every story comes from an inspiration. It’s a story about a spy who went from one country to another country. I salute Mohit Sharma for what he did. Dhurandhar may be inspired by it, but it’s not based on it. And I don’t have the authority to say much since I don’t know the entire case.”

Dhurandhar also stars Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna and Sanjay Dutt. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is slated to release on December 5.
