Amitabh Bachchan opened up recently about the changes that he has been observing in his life due to ageing. The 82-year-old superstar reflected on the challenges it has brought in his daily life which now includes taking medication and doing health routines.

Taking to his blog, Bachchan wrote about his Sunday ritual of greeting his fans and how he becomes apprehensive when he is called by the security to come down, thinking if there would be anyone present or not. The veteran actor stressed on the importance of doing yoga and mobility exercise. “The body gradually begins to lose its balance and there is a need to work on it to check and improve. It is a wonder that the normal actions, earlier, now require the mind to think before they can be exercised. Simple acts like putting on the trousers. The doctors advise, ‘Please Mr. Bachchan, sit down and wear them. Do not try to stand while you put them on, you could lose balance and fall’. And inside I sort of smile in disbelief until I find they were so right. A simple act that came so naturally earlier is now governed by a selective routine,” he wrote.

Bachchan talked about how he relies on handle bars to be steady and take support. “The bravado tells you to go ahead until you realise goodness, it’s a major problem. The rapidity of its performing has slowed down with uncertainty. May none of you may have to go through this but let me tell you it shall happen to all of us. I wish it does not but in some time it shall. We all go downward the day we are brought into this World. The down trend begins at birth. Age suddenly speed brakes your vehicle and tells you, apply the brakes to avoid the accelerated bump when you drive the vehicle of life,” added the superstar.

He noted how his observations have become philosophical and said, “But philosophy is the marked subject of profound featuring, that eventually takes over. You may have the courage to fight it for a while but eventually, sadly, we shall all lose. A loss worth loosing. Your presence and job has been done and appreciated now break off and prepare.”

On the work front, the superstar has continued hosting the 17th season of his quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. He will be seen next in Ribhu Dasgupta’s Section 84, which also stars Diana Penty and Abhishek Banerjee in pivotal roles.
