Shah Rukh Khan recently won the National Award for Jawan and is being congratulated by many in the industry. After winning the Best Actor award, Shah Rukh put up a video on his social media, thanking his fans and well-wishers.

To this, renowned casting director Mukesh Chhabra commented with a heartfelt “Love you,” with a lovestruck, evil eye and red heart emoji. Shah Rukh, in his trademark witty style, replied to the comment, “Thank You for Casting Me… Twice.”

SRK was making a funny reference to his double role in Jawan, where he plays the military officer Vikram Rathore and his jailer son Azad.

Mukesh appreciated SRK’s humour and commented, “Sir,” with tongue-out, heart, laughing and evil-eye emojis.

SRK is known for his witty comebacks. Last night when Parliamentarian Shashi Tharoor congratulated him over his National Award win, Shah Rukh replied to him, “Thank u for the simple praise Mr Tharoor… would not have understood something more magniloquent and sesquipedalian… ha ha,” in a casual dig at Tharoor’s penchant for using complex vocabulary.

Shah Rukh won the Best Actor at the 71st National Film Awards, which were announced on Friday. He won the award for his performance in Jawan. The superstar shared the award with Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail while Rani Mukerji bagged the Best Actress award for Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway.

The actor has been receiving congratulatory messages since the awards were announced. His long-time collaborator and friend, Karan Johar wrote a long note on social media wishing the actor. “This has been 33 years in the making and I can't help but beam with pride. Redefining Indian cinema with every role you take on...Jawan and all your other films are only testament to what an exceptional actor you are, to light every screen you walk in with your swag, charm and just...SRK-ness.”

It marks Shah Rukh’s first National Award in his entire career of 33 years where he has delivered hard-hitting performances in films like Swades (2004), Chak De! India (2007) and Veer-Zaara (2004) among others.

Jawan was released in September 2023 and also starred Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. The action thriller went on to emerge as the highest grosser in India of 2023 with its collection crossing over Rs 1000 at the worldwide box office.
