The trailer of TVF’s upcoming legal drama series, Court Kacheri was unveiled by the makers on Saturday. Starring Pavan Malhotra in the lead, it also features Ashish Verma, Puneet Batra, Anandeshwar Dwivedi and Priyasha Bhardwaj in pivotal roles. The show is created by Arunabh Kumar and directed by Ruchir Arun with Puneet Batra, Anurag Ramesh Shukla, Akshay Anand Kohli, Anurag Jha serving as writers.
The trailer gives a glimpse into its world where Param (Ashish), a reluctant young man is forced into law by his father’s towering legacy. In a scene, he is scolded by the judge for not wearing a neckband for his hearing in court. Pavan plays his father and an influential lawyer. Param plans to escape from his profession and go to Canada using dubious means without telling his father. Then he is shown to be visiting villages and understanding the importance of his profession. At one point, Param is jailed and has a breakdown in front of the inmates about the strict behavior of his father. The show seems to have a heartfelt touch to it as Param tries to find his footing as a lawyer.
The official synopsis of the show reads, "Court Kacheri is a coming-of-age legal drama set in India’s district courts. It explores emotionally charged human stories, high-stakes legal battles, and harsh courtroom realities, all through the eyes of Param, a young man born into a lawyer’s legacy but determined to escape it."
Speaking about it, Pavan said in a press release, “Playing Harish was more than a role, it was a reflection. This show dives into the silent battles between generations, the weight of legacy, and the quiet rebellion of choosing your own path. It’s emotional, real, and deeply relatable.”
Court Kacheri is produced by Arunabh Kumar with Vijay Koshy and Shreyansh Pandey serving as executive producers. It is set to be released on Sony LIV on August 13.
