71st National Film Awards: Shah Rukh Khan, Vikrant Massey share award for Best Actor, 12th Fail bags Best Film

71st National Film Awards: Rani Mukerji has won the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role while Sam Bahadur bagged the prize for Best Feature Film Promoting National, Social and Environmental Values

The winners of the 71st National Film Awards were announced at the National Media Centre in New Delhi on Friday. Films that were certified from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023, were eligible for these awards.

Shah Rukh Khan and Vikrant Massey jointly won the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for their films Jawan and 12th Fail respectively while the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role went to Rani Mukerji for Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway. This is Shah Rukh's first National Film Award in 33 years.

12th Fail also bagged the award for Best Feature Film. Along with that, Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur won the award for Best Feature Film Promoting National, Social and Environmental Values and Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani won the award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
