Hansal Mehta’s True Story Films and Bhanushali Studios ink three-picture deal

The films will also include a Gujarati-language feature

Director Hansal Mehta’s True Story Films and Vinod Bhanushali’s Bhanushali Studios will be collaborating for three films, which are set to release through 2025 and 2026. As per a report in Variety, the films will also include a Gujarati-language feature, and the deal signals an expansion into regional cinema for both companies.

“This collaboration with Hansal and the team at True Story represents an exciting chapter for Bhanushali Studios as we continue to champion stories that are authentic and culturally rich,” said Vinod Bhanushali, founder and chair of Bhanushali Studios Limited. “The inclusion of a Gujarati-language film holds special significance for us, as we aim to bring regional narratives to a broader audience,” he added.

“Collaborating with Vinod and Bhanushali Studios gives us the freedom to push boundaries with stories that are both urgent and personal,” Hansal Mehta said. “This slate reflects the kind of cinema that challenges, resonates, and endures. We’re excited to amplify these voices and bring them to life on screen.”

Bhanushali Studios is known for backing films like Janhit Mein Jaari, Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, Main Atal Hoon and Bhaiyya Ji. Hansal has helmed films like Faraaz and The Buckingham Murders. He is also working on a series on MK Gandhi which is being produced by Applause Entertainment.
