Salman Khan condemns Pahalgam terrorist attack: ‘Heaven on earth turning into hell’

Salman Khan took to X on Wednesday to condemn the terrorist attack which took place in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on Tuesday. At least 26 people were killed and many others were injured after terrorists opened fire at civilians in the scenic Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam.

Salman wrote, “Kashmir, heaven on planet earth, turning into hell. Innocent people being targeted, my heart goes out to their families. Ek bhi innocent ko marna puri kainath ko marne ke barabar hai (Killing an innocent person is akin to killing the entire world).”

Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Akshay Kumar, Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal shared their reactions to the attack.

Veteran lyricist-screenwriter Javed Akhtar wrote on X, “Come what may, whatever the cost, whatever the repercussions, the terrorists of Pelham can’t be allowed to get away. These mass murderers have to pay with their lives for their inhuman deeds.”

Vicky Kaushal wrote, “Can't imagine the pain of the family members who lost their loved ones in the absolutely inhumane act of terrorism in Pahalgam. My deepest condolences and prayers. Hope the culprits behind this heinous act are brought to justice.”

Kareena Kapoor Khan expressed her condolences and wrote on Instagram, “Beyond heartbroken for the victims and their families. Praying for the lives lost.”

Farhan Akhtar wrote a note of condemnation on his Instagram stories and said, “Deeply shocked and horrified by the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam. This senseless act of violence against innocent lives is absolutely inexcusable and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families of those who lost their lives and I stand in solidarity with the people of Kashmir during this tragic time.”

The terror attack took place at around 3 pm on Tuesday as terrorists opened fire at civilians in the valley. As gunshots were heard, security forces rushed to the area. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the perpetrators of the attack will be brought to justice. “Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable and it will get even stronger,” he wrote on X.
