A new promo of Emraan Hashmi’s upcoming action-thriller Ground Zero was unveiled by the makers on Monday. Written by Sanchit Gupta and Priyadarshee Srivastava and directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, the film also stars Sai Tamhankar, Zoya Hussain, Mukesh Tiwari, Deepak Parmesh and Lalit Prabhakar in pivotal roles.

The one-minute promo features some intense action scenes from the film as Emraan plays BSF commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, who is leading an operation to nab a terrorist, Ghazi Baba, in Kashmir. It is revealed that Emraan and others get intel about something big that is going to happen. A voice reveals that over 70 army jawans have been martyred in two weeks. “If you cannot save your jawans, how will you save Kashmir?” asks a character. Emraan’s character is seen doing shooting practice and laying out a plan to catch Ghazi in the troubled state.

Emraan plays the role of Dubey in the film, who spearheaded a critical two-year investigation into a national security threat following the 2001 Parliament attack. This operation ultimately led to the identification and elimination of the terrorist mastermind Ghazi Baba in 2003.

Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, Ground Zero is set to be released in theatres on April 25.
