Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Irrfan Khan's starrer Piku will be re-released in theatres on May 9. Directed by Shoojit Sircar and written by Juhi Chaturvedi, the film will complete 10 years since its release on May 8, 2015.

Deepika took to Instagram on Saturday to make the announcement. She shared a video featuring some glimpses from the film. The visuals are intercut with Bachchan talking about the film. Deepika wrote in the caption, “A film that will always have my heart – Piku is back in theatres on 9th May, 2025, to celebrate its 10th Anniversary! Irrfan, we miss you! And think about you every so often.”

The film follows Piku (Deepika), an architect who lives with her cranky, aging father, Bhaskor Banerjee (Bachchan), and a road trip that they take from Delhi to Kolkata along with Irrfan’s character, who is the owner of a taxi business. It also stars Moushumi Chatterjee, Jisshu Sengupta, and Raghubir Yadav in pivotal roles.

Piku received critical acclaim upon release, praising the performances and subtle nuances in the screenplay. Bachchan won his fourth National Film Award for Best Actor at the 63rd National Film Awards for his performance in the film.

The film is produced by NP Singh, Ronnie Lahiri, and Sneha Rajani.
