Mahakaal Mahakaali’, the first song from Sanjay Dutt’s upcoming horror-comedy The Bhootnii was unveiled by the makers on Wednesday. Sung by Hansraj Raghuwanshi, it is written and composed by Shabbir Ahmed.

The music video of the song features Sanjay fighting with the ghost which embodies Mouni Roy’s character in the film. There are visuals of him jumping around wearing a black suit and engaging in action. The song is a devotional ode to Lord Shiva as his qualities are compared with the character Sanjay plays in the film.

Speaking about the song, Sanjay shared, “The makers initially approached me for this song, and I felt an instant connection with it. A few conversations later, I was on board for the movie. This is my favourite track from the film, as I have always been a Shiv Bhakt—this is my tribute to the Almighty.”

Written by Vankush Arora and Sidhaant Sachdev, who has also directed it, The Bhootnii also stars Sunny Singh, Palak Tiwari, Beyounick, and Aasif Khan in pivotal roles. It is set to be released in theatres on May 1.
