Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam’s Vicky Donor to re-release in theatres

Helmed by Shoojit Sircar, the film hit the screens originally in 2012

Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam’s 2012 comedy-drama Vicky Donor is set to be re-released in theatres on April 18, the makers announced on Tuesday. The film marked the debut of Ayushmann and Yami. Written by Juhi Chaturvedi and directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film was backed by John Abraham in his debut production and also starred Annu Kapoor and Dolly Ahluwalia in pivotal roles.

Yami made the announcement on Tuesday through social media. Sharing the film’s poster, she wrote in caption, “The film where it all started for us. See you in cinemas again. Save the date- 18th April!”

In the film, Ayushmann plays a young Punjabi boy who becomes a sperm donor. It became one of the most talked about movies after its release for tackling a taboo subject with a mix of humor. The film also became a success at the box-office while getting applauds from the critics for its refreshing appeal.

On the work front, Ayushmann was last seen in Dream Girl 2 in 2023 while Yami starred recently in Dhoom Dhaam which released on Netflix.
