The trailer of Anupam Kher’s drama-film The Signature was released by the makers on Tuesday. It is helmed by Marathi director Gajendra Ahire and is a remake of the 2013 Marathi film Anumati which was also directed by him. The Signature also stars Mahima Chaudhary, Neena Kulkarni, Annu Kapoor and Ranvir Shorey in pivotal roles.

The trailer introduces Anupam as Arvind, who lives with his wife, Madhu (Neena) and they have been married for 35 years. Tragedy strikes them as Madhu falls ill and is put on the ventilator by doctors. Arvind has to arrange for money for the treatment of his wife and he seeks help of his friends, relatives, son and daughter. The trailer has some hard-hitting scenes where Anupam is seen emoting in his fears of losing a loved one.

The original film received critical acclaim upon release and Vikram Gokhale, who played the lead role, won National Film Award for Best Actor for the film. It was shot by veteran cinematographer Govind Nihalani.

The Signature is produced by K.C. Bokadia and Anupam Kher Studio. It will be released on ZEE5 on October 4.
