In a recent interview, Rahul Bose opened up about how he was not given a chair during the shoot of his debut film when its producer and family were provided with chairs. In an interaction with Lallantop, Rahul said, “I was not given a chair to sit in my first film. I was the lead actor and I have never struggled. I went straight from the stage to playing the lead role, and the film had no heroine, it was just me. Yet, I was never given a chair on set. Sometimes I would sit on a road divider or a parapet, as if it was no problem, but other people always had chairs. The producer, his sister, his uncle everyone had a chair, except me.”

He revealed that after going through this for some day, he brought his own ‘fancy’ chair to the set. “I went to a restaurant, and they had a fancy version of the chair that was on set. It cost Rs 10,000 about 30 years ago, but I got my own chair. Since that experience, I always bring my own chair to the set because I never want to go through that humiliation again.”

Rahul made his first prominent appearance in the English language Indian film English, August (1994) which was directed by Dev Benegal. Produced by Anuradha Parikh, it also starred Tanvi Azmi, Mita Vashist, and Shivaji Satam in pivotal roles.

Rahul will be seen next in the espionage-thriller Berlin, which is set to be released on ZEE5 on September 13.
