Aamir Khan is expected to be teaming up with Anurag Basu for a biopic on iconic playback singer and actor Kishore Kumar, according to a report in Pinkvilla. Sources told the publication that the duo have had multiple meetings to discuss the project which is said to be backed by producer Bhushan Kumar.

According to the source, “The Kishore Kumar biopic is a subject close to the heart of Anurag Basu and Bhushan Kumar, and they are looking to bring it to the spectacle in the best possible way. Aamir Khan is also a big admirer of Kishore Kumar and loved the vision that Basu has to bring the life of legend to the spectacle. The filmmaker has treated it very differently, and that’s what has fascinated Aamir the most."

Aamir wrapped the shoot of his next Sitaare Zameen Par in July earlier this year and the film is helmed by RS Prasanna, known for making Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017). It also stars Genelia Deshmukh D’Souza and is produced by Aamir under Aamir Khan Productions. Aamir is also backing Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta starrer Lahore 1947, which is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.
