Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina’s Jigra mints Rs 11.13 crore in two days

The film backed by Alia’s production house Eternal Sunshine along with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, has been directed by Vasan Bala

Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina starrer Jigra has made Rs 11. 13 crore in two days at the box office, as per the makers.

Alia’s production house Eternal Sunshine, which is backing the film along with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions took to Instagram on Sunday to share the net box office numbers of the film. The Vasan Bala directorial opened at Rs 4.55 crore on Friday which increased to Rs 6.58 crore on Saturday, taking the total to Rs 11.13 crore. Industry tracker Sacnilk, estimates the collection at Rs 11.05 crore (Rs 4.55 crore on Friday and Rs 6.50 crore the next day).

Further, as per Sacnilk.com, the Hindi occupancy for Jigra has been 30.10 per cent, with more than 2800 shows across the country. With 28 shows, Chennai has the highest occupancy of 79.50 per cent, Bengaluru has 196 shows for the film and has an occupancy of 60.25 per cent. Hyderabad follows with 44 per cent occupancy, followed by Pune with an occupant of 43.75 per cent. Despite having the maximum number of shows – 780, the occupancy in Delhi NCR is 24.75 per cent, while in Mumbai the film has 512 shows with an occupancy of 38 per cent. The lowest occupancy for Jigra has been seen in Surat, which is 10.50 per cent.

While the film has had a slow run at the box office it has also been in the eye of controversy, on Saturday, actress Divya Khossla called out Alia and Karan for inflating the box office collections for Jigra. She accused the team of getting paid reviews done, and also buying tickets just to tamper with box office numbers.

The film also stars Manoj Pahwa, Rahul Ravindran and Vivek Gomber.
