Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma announces new film titled Vanvaas

According to the makers, the film is a modern take on the mythological epic of Ramayana

Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma took to social media on Saturday to announce his next film titled Vanvaas. He made the announcement on the occasion of Dussehra. The family-drama stars Nana Patekar and Anil’s son, Utkarsh Sharma. According to the makers, the film is a modern take on the mythological epic of Ramayana.

The director shared an announcement video which has a festive feeling to it. The title is revealed with a religious background music. In the caption, he wrote, “Parivaar ke liye ek Parivaarik film Vanvaas. Aap sabhi ko Dussehra ki hardik shubhkamnayein! (A family drama for families. Wish you all a happy Dussehra)”.

According to the Instagram tags mentioned in the post, the film also stars Simrat Kaur, Khushboo Sundar, Rajpal Yadav, and Ashwini Kalsekar.

Anil is known for making films like Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), Apne (2007), Veer (2010) and Singh Saab the Great (2013) among others.

Vanvaas marks Anil’s other collaboration with Zee Studios after the success of Gadar 2, which released last year. More details from the project are awaited.
