Ratan Tata passes away: Kamal Haasan, Salman Khan and others pay tribute

Ratan Tata, chairman of Tata Sons, passed away on Wednesday night at the age of 86. He was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai and was undergoing treatment in intensive care for the past few days.

Kamal Haasan, Salman Khan, Jr NTR, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ajay Devgn, Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt and others, took to social media to pay tributes to the industrialist.

Kamal Haasan wrote a long note on X and said, "Ratan Tata Ji was a personal hero of mine, someone I’ve tried to emulate throughout my life. A national treasure whose contributions in nation-building shall forever be etched in the story of modern India. His true richness lay not in material wealth but in his ethics, integrity, humility and patriotism. In the immediate aftermath of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, I met him while staying at the iconic Taj Hotel. In that moment of national crisis, the titan stood tall and became the embodiment of the Indian spirit, to rebuild and emerge stronger as a nation. My profound condolences to his family, friends, Tata Group and my fellow Indians"

Salman wrote on X, “Deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Ratan Tata."

Jr. NTR wrote on X, "A titan of industry, a heart of gold! Ratan Tata Ji's selfless philanthropy and visionary leadership have transformed countless lives. India owes him a debt of gratitude. May he rest in peace."

Kareena took to her Instagram stories and shared a photo of Ratan Tata and wrote, “Goodbye to the Titan. Fly high like you loved and oh how you taught us to love.”

Ajay wrote in his condolence note, "The world mourns the loss of a visionary. Ratan Tata's legacy will forever inspire generations. His contributions to India and beyond are immeasurable. We are deeply grateful. Rest in peace, Sir."

Priyanka wrote a short note on her Instagram and said, “Through your kindness, you touched millions. Your legacy of leadership and generosity will continue to inspire generations. Thank you for your unmatched passion and dedication for everything you did for our country. You have been an inspiration to all of us and will be greatly missed Sir.”

Ratan Tata took over as the chairman of Tata Group and Tata sons in 1991, serving till 2012. The group was founded by his great-grandfather more than hundred years ago. He received the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian honor in 2008.
